What a great place to hold a wedding and even better what a great place for wedding photography. I’m talking about The Robertson Hotel in the small country town of Robertson in the Southern Highlands. About a two hour drive South West of Sydney.
Who was fortunate enough and couple lucky enough to stumble across this hidden gem? Rachel and Scotty from Sydney held their fairy tale wedding on the grounds of The Robertson Hotel.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this place becomes an iconic wedding venue. Why do I say this? I could say, just look at Rachel & Scotty’s wedding photos’. But if I had to put it into words it would go something like this.
Every where you turned there are little pockets of photography heaven. So majestic, so awe inspiring and just so damn easy to photograph.
From the palatial hotel rooms to the lush green grounds. You think for a moment you have been transported back in time 100 years.
The wedding took place down the bottom of the hill. After which Rachel and Scotty mingled with their guests for 45 minutes or so.
After which we took the must have family shots and then headed around the grounds of the hotel.
Seriously, if time permitted I could have spent another three hours photographing there. They even had rail lines at the back of the venue.
We simply had to walk 20 meters and we had a completely different outlook.
The reception was held outside in a large marquee. This only added to the laid back, country feel of the wedding day.
To give you an idea of the vibe of this place. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Robertson Hotel has featured in any movies or television commercials.
even though it’s a fair drive from Sydney. I do hope to be back one day just so I can find more hidden treasure spots.
